October 1998; Ph.D in Economics, Tilburg University. Title of thesis: 'Economic Growth, Sectoral Structure and Unemployment'.

December 1996; NAKE-diploma (Network for General and Quantitative Economics); specialisation courses in, among others, 'Environmental Economics' and 'Institutions and Wage Setting'.

July 1994; Master's degree in Economics ('cum laude'), Tilburg University and CentER for Economic Research. Title of thesis: 'The economic growth slowdown after 1973: from macro- to sectoranalysis' (in Dutch).
